FEELS LIKE TRAINING

The warm weather is finally here. That means more riding for me. Hot dog! I'll take it. I have gotten out for short rides that past 3 days. It feels so good to be back on the bike. I have been doing 12-15 mile rides each day, which allows me to push myself more than I do on my 25-35 mile rides.

I actually feel like I'm getting stronger, and faster. My averages are creeping up toward 18mph, which is nice.

My downside is still that I don't let my body warm up in a timely manner. I'm focused too much on my mileage average. If I can just relax and truly "warm up," then maybe my averages will be higher.

I am looking for flatter roads to ride on as well. Too many hills my way. Hills are a good training device (and they're usually unavoidable), but my focus these past 3 rides is to not 'coast' on the flat parts of my ride. I have been kicking it up a notch, all the while trying to focus on smooth breathing as I get moving.

I have a ways to go, but if I can keep my outings to 10-15 miles at a time, I will have opportunities to try out new things.
