AN EASY 15

The rains this week have really crippled my chances to add any serious mileage to my yearly total. Each night has been the same... HOT, HUMID, HORRENDOUS storm. Tuesday, Wed, and Thur have been like that.

I did ride Monday night. The infamous "Flying Ants" ride... No more of that hopefully.

This morning Bill and I actually met up for a casual 15-mile one hour ride around the neighborhood. We chatted about work, family, and the upcoming 24-hour ride. We're both of the mindset that any mileage over 100 miles will be welcomed. I'm hoping 100 doesn't kill me.

My best plan is to start slow. Thing "Tortoise and the Hare." I'm the Tortoise in this story.

2 weeks from today, and I'll be tackling the 100 miles. Bill will be riding as well, along with his coworker, Jim. 1,200 riders will be participating in the ride. That alone should take my mind off the pain of pedaling for 10 hours or so....
