41 and Riding Stronger Than Ever
I take great pride in the fact that I'm 41 and I still cycle. Not only do I still cycle, I now ride smarter, stronger, and faster than I did as a teenager and young adult.
Last night Bill and I got out for a 21 mile ride. We started a tad slow. Got warmed up quickly, and then hit our pace. Had a nice clip going for most of the ride.
It was hot. Not humid, but plenty HOT. I was sweating pretty profusely. Loved it. The post burn was even better. We ended the right with a SPRINT. (At least I did.... I think Bill was behind me cranking it out too....)
We ended with a 17mph average.
A year ago, we were averaging 15.5 - 16.0 mph. We were TRUCKING last night.
I'm in my 40's, but I can still kick some ass on that Cannondale of mine.
I like how cycling makes me feel young.
Any ride is a good ride.
