THE DRUMMER AND THE FENCER...

Emma and Aidan just finished a 6-week course in an after-school type program called PEAK. Don't ask me what that stands for. Anyhoo, Emma chose to study "Fencing." I think she was hoping they used Light Sabers, instead of SWORDS. :) She had a blast doing it.

Aidan chose drums. While I'm quite handy on the guitar and keyboard, I can't keep a steady beat (drum-wise) to save myself. Maybe Aidan will fight heredity and actually come out on top? Time (steady time) will tell, I guess. :)

Next Friday, swimming starts!

RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY...

Another rained out weekend. Both days. Total rain. Nonstop. Kids inside. Not happy. Parents not happy either. Tuesday might see sun.

How 'bout you guys?

IT'S MARCH IN NC... Time for Swimming Lessons

yes, it's that time of year to dust off the goggles. Check the sizes on the bathing suits. Find towels and flip flops and head off to swimming lessons.

This will most likely be the last year for it. Emma has truly grasped the art of keeping one's head ABOVE water.

Aidan still subscribes to the "If I Flap My Arms Fast Enough, I'll Stay Afloat" theory. He needs a tad bit of precision and discipline before he's allowed in the 4 ft part of the pool....

Fortunately, both kids have grown what seems like a foot! That will help as they try to become "water-proof."

SNOW DAY...

For the 3rd time this season, the kids are off from school. Wow! Not much of the white stuff fell, but enough of it for the schools to tuck their tails between their legs and call off the school day.

I've got 2 "quite" happy kids here....
